On January 19, 2011, a Grand Jury in Philadelphia released a report on its investigation into criminal wrongdoing at an abortion clinic in West Philadelphia and issued an indictment against its operator, Kermit B. Gosnell, M.D. The Grand Jury report presented a disturbing story, one met by an almost universal response of horror.

We at Alpha were concerned for the many women who had gone to the clinic over the years who would be troubled by the news. We believed we were uniquely prepared to help them, and we responded with a press release offering our help to any who needed it.
